15 Dec 2009Quitting is no way to win. Personally, I can’t stand quitters; so if you know that you are not going to be completing the cholesterol lowering program, don’t start it – don’t even read another word. But if you are going to follow through and avoid a high cholesterol diet, then the trick is? less carbohydrates, less fat; more fruit, vegetables and vitamin.
If you don’t do a lot of vegetables already, you might want to start that now in order for lowering cholesterol strategies to work. I’m not just talking about a balanced diet; I am speaking of a balanced (and healthy) cholesterol level in your body. Without the vegetables, you just don’t get there.
You cannot just start to do 35 grams of fibrous foods overnight if you’ve never been there before; that’ll nearly kill you. The technique is to focus on where you are going, and give yourself a couple of months to get there and reduce cholesterol in your system. Then gradually, you need to focus on doing it right each day until you do get there.
I love it when doctors tell me I have the heartbeat of an athlete. At that time, it does not matter what I am suffering from, or afraid that I could be suffering from. I have a sigh of relief. Whatever it is, it is not cholesterol related, and that is good for the moment.
You don’t know how much poison you swallow day in and out. Much of it won’t kill you right away, but accumulating over time, you could just drop dead one day and that would be the end of it. That’s the way it works with cholesterol; and that’s why you need to be lowering your level of the stuff right now.
